Asian equity Market jumped on Thursday after U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell reaffirmed interest rates would stay low for a long time, calming market fears that higher inflation might prompt the central bank to tighten the monetary spigot.
In Asia, the Kospi jumped 3.50%, SGX Nifty surged 1.96%, Nikkei 225 gained 1.67%, straits times rose 1.67%,Taiwan weighted surged 1.48%,Hang seng rose 1.20%, Jakarta composites gained 0.62%.
European Markets surged on Thursday, led by sectors deemed to benefit from a broader economic recovery as the U.S. Federal Reserve signalled it would maintain a loose monetary policy.
In Europe, the FTSE gained 0.42%, CAC surged 0.52% while the DAX plunged 0.05%.
