Asian stock markets reversed gains after opening in positive territory owing to optimism over the progress of a proposed US stimulus as well as global recovery from Covid.
In Asia, the straits times gained 1.90%,SGX Nifty surged 0.25% while the shanghai composites plunged 2.30%, Hang seng declined 1.92%, Kospi lost 1.00%, Nikkei 225 fell 0.42%, Taiwan weighted plunged 0.22%, Jakarta composites lost 0.16%.
European stocks edged higher on Monday as global investors monitor progress towards a U.S. Covid relief bill against the backdrop of rising bond yields.
In Europe, the DAX gained 1.01%,CAC surged 0.58% while the FTSE plunged 0.15% to 6,620.55.
