GLOBAL EQUITY MARKET OF 4th March 2021

Asian Equity Market traded lower on Thursday after negative sentiment on Wall Street and concerns about rising bond yields dropped over into the region.

In Asia, the straits times surged 0.48% whereas the hang seng lost 2.15%, Nikkei 225 fell 2.13%, shanghai composite plunged 2.05%, SGX Nifty dived 1.46%, Jakarta composite lost 1.35%, Kospi fell 1.28%.

European markets retreated on Thursday as a rise in bond yields saw jitters return to global stocks once again.

In Europe, the FTSE lost 0.98%, CAC fell 0.34% and DAX plunged 0.57%.

U.S. stock futures edged lower on Thursday as investors awaited comments from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell about the outlook for inflation and the central bank’s views on rising bond yields.
