INDIAN EQUITY MARKET WITNESSED SELL-OFF DURING THE LAST HOURS OF TRADE

Domestic Equity Market erased all the morning gains and ended with lower note on Friday dragged by heavy selling across the board. The Sensex ended 487.43 points or 0.95% lower at 50,792.08 with shares of Powergrid, Titan, ONGC, Infosys ,Bajaj Finance were the gainers with a gain of 2.28%, 0.76%, 0.52%, 0.48%, 0.24% respectively while shares of Bajaj Auto, Maruti, ICICI Bank, Sun Pharma, Reliance, Ultratech cement, SBI, Dr. Reddy, IndusInd Bank, Kotak Bank were having loss of 3.10%, 2.40%, 2.06%, 2.04%, 1.97%, 1.88%, 1.63%, 1.59%, 1.57%, 1.38% respectively .The NSE Nifty closed at 15,030.95, down 143.85 points, or 0.95 percent. All the sectoral indexes were in red .Auto, Bank, Pharma Indexes were the top losers with having loss of 1.66%, 1.23%, 1.05% respectively followed by FMCG, Metal, Media, Realty Indexes were having loss of 1.00%, 0.86%, 0.86%, 0.82% respectively.

ONGC surged half percent in today’s session as it has acquired a 5 per cent stake in Indian Gas Exchange (IGX), joining likes of Adani Total Gas, Torrent Gas and GAIL in nation's first gas exchange.

Infosys gained slightly as Infosys has extended its strategic collaboration with Newmont Corporation, the world’s largest gold mining company by five years.
