INR DOWN 11 PAISE AGAINST USD

Rupee appreciated against GBP, JPY, EUR. The Rupee opened with a negative note at 73.01, down by 29 paise against US dollar and settled at 72.83, registering a decline of 11 paise over its previous closing. The rupee ended 11 lower on Thursday, weighed down by a rebound in the US dollar and muted domestic equities. USD/INR witnessed an intra-day low and high of 72.59 and 73.05 respectively.

On the domestic equity market front, the BSE Sensex ended 598.57 points or 1.16 per cent lower at 50486.08, while the broader NSE Nifty declined 164.85 points or 1.08 per cent to 15080.75.

The US dollar rose against most major currencies . The Euro fell to 1.2036 from 1.207 against dollar. The Australian dollar fell to $0.7785 from $0.78. GBP and JPY were also traded down against USD on Today.
