RUPEE GAINS BY 18 PAISE AT 73.37 AGAINST US DOLLAR

Rupee appreciated against most of the currency in the basket. The Rupee started this Tuesday on a positive note at 73.34, up by 22 paise against US dollar. It finally ended 18 paise higher at 73.37 against the US dollar on Tuesday, supported by positive domestic equities amid improving risk appetite. USD/INR witnessed an intra-day low and high of 73.31 and 73.48 respectively.INR also traded up against GBP, EUR, JPY and CNY.

On the domestic equity market front, the BSE Sensex ended 447.05 points or 0.90 per cent higher at 50,296.89, while the broader NSE Nifty advanced 157.55 points or 1.07 per cent to 14,919.10.

US dollar traded mixed. Currently,USD is trading up against EUR, JPY,SGD and down against INR, GBP, AUD.
