RUPEE ENDS 2 PAISE HIGHER AGAINST THE US DOLLAR

Rupee rose against most major currencies. The rupee opened marginally lower at 72.96 per dollar and witnessed an intra-day high of 72.89 and a low of 73.10 against dollar. Indian rupee ended flat with positive bias at 72.91 per dollar, amid buying saw in the domestic equity market. As a sharp reversal was seen in domestic equities in the second half, the rupee recovered, appreciating further.

On the domestic equity market front, the BSE Sensex ended 254.03 points or 0.50 per cent higher at 51,279.51, while the broader NSE Nifty advanced 76.40 points or 0.51 per cent to 15,174.80.

The Euro jumped to 1.1896 from 1.1886 against dollar. AUD/USD traded flat.GBP and JPY were also traded up against USD on Today.
