GLOBAL EQUITY MARKET OF 22nd JAN 2021

Asian stock market plummeted on Friday as investors took a breather following a strong week for global equities as Joe Biden took up residence in the White House, though there are concerns about the outlook for his new stimulus proposal.

In Asia, The SGX Nifty lost 1.96%, Jakarta composite fell 1.66%, Hang Seng is down 1.60% while Japan's Nikkei 225 is off 0.44% and China's Shanghai Composite is lower by 0.40%.

European stocks dropped on Friday, on rising COVID-19 cases and lockdown worries globally, and as optimism surrounding a leadership change at the White House ran out of steam.

In Europe, The DAX is down 0.70% while France's CAC 40 is off 0.97% and London's FTSE 100 is lower by 0.55%.
