WEEKLY CURRENCY REPORT:RUPEE APPECIATED 0.28% ON A WEEKLY BASIS

On a weekly basis, the rupee ended 21 paise or 0.28 per cent higher at 73.04 against US dollar as compared to the previous week close. For this week, USD/INR touched low at 73.50 and high at 72.98. On Monday, Indian Rupee depreciated 21 paise on the back of strong dollar. The dollar is gaining strength amid rise in bond yields. The rupee recouped losses and closed 15 paise higher at 73.25 against the US dollar on Tuesday, supported by weakness in the dollar index and recovery in domestic equities. Again, The rupee gained 11 paise higher at 73.14 against the US dollar on Wednesday. The rupee gained for the third straight day and closed 12 paise higher at 73.03 against the US dollar on Thursday, supported by sustained foreign fund inflows and weak American currency. The rupee settled on a flat note at.73.04 on Friday and touched a high of 72.98 against Us Dollar.
