INDIAN EQUITY MARKET ENDED FLAT ON TODAY’S SESSION

Domestic equity market ended flat with negative bias as profit-taking at the higher levels trimmed all the gains as the day progressed.Net buying of FII/FPI was at Rs.1,144.09 crore while net selling in DII was at Rs.1,559.53 crore. At close, The Sensex fell 49.96 points, or 0.10 percent to 52,104.17 with shares of Powergrid, ONGC, NTPC, Kotak Bank, Reliance, Maruti ,Ultratech Cement were having a gain of 6.24%, 5.44%, 2.94%, 1.78%, 1.33%, 1.26% ,0.93% respectively while shares of Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Nestle India, SBI, TCS, HUL were having losses of 2.42%, 2.30%, 1.50%, 1.50%, 1.17%, 0.98%, 0.86% respectively. The Nifty closed almost flat at 15,313.45, down 1.25 points, or 0.01 percent with indexes like Metal, Energy, Pharma, Realty Indexes were having a gain of 2.89%, 2.34%, 0.46%, 0.27% respectively while IT, Media, FMCG, Bank, Auto Indexes were having loss of 1.49%,0.77%, 0.69%, 0.56%, 0.10% respectively.

TOP STOCKS IN NEWSCAST:

Powergrid gained over 6% as the company as acquired 74% shareholding of the JV partner i.e. Jaiprakash Power Ventures in Jaypee PowerGrid.

NTPC surged over 5% as the company has sped up the procedure to pay compensation to the families of workers who died in the Tapovan tragedy.

Kotak Mahindra Bank gained over 2% as the bank announced the launch of its outward forex remittance service, Kotak Remit, on mobile that will allow users to send money abroad directly from their mobile phones.

Maruti Suzuki gained over 1% as the company has emerged as the top automaker in terms of customer choice – with half of India’s passenger vehicles (PVs) sold in 2020 coming from the brand.
