RUPEE SETTLES FLAT TO 72.95 AGAINST DOLLAR AMID FIRM DOMESTIC EQUITIES

Rupee appreciated against most of the currency in the basket except JPY. The rupee started the day with flat note against US dollar. It finally finished at 72.95, higher by 1 paise over its last close. The Rupee hit an intra-day high 72.91 and a low of 73.98 against US dollar. Today, the market is very flat and volatility is muted.

On the domestic equity market front, the BSE Sensex ended 458.03 points or 0.92 per cent higher at 50,255.75, while the broader NSE Nifty advanced 142.10 points or 0.97 per cent to 14,789.95.

US dollar traded mixed.USD appreciated against EUR, GBP while depreciated against JPY, CAD, SGD, AUD.
