RUPEE SETTLES ON FLAT NOTE AT 72.69 AGAINST US DOLLAR

Rupee traded lower against most of the currency in the basket. The rupee opened 5 paise higher at 72.64 against the dollar and registered an intra-day high of 72.62. It finally ended at 72.69 against US dollar, registering a little fall over its previous close amid a muted trend in the domestic equity market.

On the domestic equity market front, the BSE Sensex ended 49.96 points or 0.10 percent lower at 52,104.17, while the broader NSE Nifty declined 1.25 points or 0.01 percent to 15,313.45.

USD traded up against INR, JPY, SGD while USD traded down against EUR, GBP,CAD.
