INDIAN EQUITY MARKET ENDED LOWER TRACKING WEAK GLOBAL CUES

Domestic Equity Market ended lower on Wednesday tracking Weak global cues amid buying in Reliance Industries (RIL), Bharti Airtel, and Tata Steel. News that AstraZeneca Pharma has "voluntarily paused" a randomized clinical trial of its coronavirus vaccine after a volunteer developed an unexplained illness, weighed on the investor sentiment.

The BSE Sensex slid 171.43 points or 0.45 per cent to settle at 39,193.92 levels. 12 out of 30 stocks were in advance 18 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 38,252.67 and low of 37,935.26.

The NSE Nifty50 ended at 11,278.00 levels, down 39.35 points, or 0.35 per cent.25 out of 50 stocks were in advance while 24 stocks were in decline and 1 share unchanged. It touched intraday high of 11,298.15 and low of 11,185.15.

On Sectoral Front, Pharma, Media, Metal, Energy, Auto Indexes were in the gainer side with a gain of 1.90%, 1.18%, 0.86%, 0.19%, 0.19% respectively while Bank, Realty, IT, FMCG Indexes were in loser side with a loss of 2.10%, 1.49%, 0.73%, 0.60% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of Tata Steel, Reliance, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel ,Asian Paints, Nestle India, Mahindra & Mahindra ,IndusInd Bank were the gainers with a gain of 3.04%,2.57%, 1.40%, 1.33%, 1.10%, 1.05%, 0.89%, 0.86% respectively while shares of SBI, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank ,ONGC, ITC, Bajaj Finance ,ICICI Bank were the losers with a loss of 4.46%, 3.29%, 2.94%,2.42%, 2.23%, 2.20%,2.17% respectively.

On NSE, Shares of Tata Steel, Zee Limited,Cipla,Reliance,Grasim,JSW steel,Dr. Reddy ,Hindalco were the gainers with a gain of 3.57%, 3.06%,2.73%, 2.68%, 2.39%, 1.99%, 1.67%, 1.61% respectively while shares of SBI,Gail,Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank,IOC,ONGC,ITC,ICICI Bank were in loser side with a loss of 4.09%, 3.38%, 2.89%,2.73%,2.60%,2.15%,2.07%,2.05% respectively.

Asian shares declined on Wednesday after a selloff of big technology stocks on Wall Street pulled U.S. benchmarks lower. Crude oil prices and Treasury yields also weakened.

European stocks advanced on Wednesday as investors looked to shrug off the technology-led rout in the U.S. that is putting pressure on financial markets around the world.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) gained over 2% Silver Lake will invest ₹ 7,500 crore in its subsidiary, Reliance Retail Ventures.

Asian Paints gained over 1% after the brent crude slipped below $40 for the first time since June 30.

SBI fell over 4% as State Bank of India NSE -4.51 % raised Rs 4,000 crore in additional tier 1 bonds at a coupon of 7.74%.
