INDIAN EQUITY MARKET CLOSED WITH LOSS ON TODAY DRAGGED BY METAL,BANK AND PHARMA STOCKS

Domestic Equity Market ended with lower Note on Tuesday dragged by Metal, Bank and Pharma Stocks along with selling in blue-chip counters such as Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, HDFC, and Hindustan Unilever (HUL).

The BSE Sensex today slipped 51.88 points, or 0.14 per cent to settle at 38,365.35 levels.9 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 21 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 38,746.48 and low of 38,275.45.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended at 11,317.35, down 37.70 points, or 0.33 per cent.13 out of 50 stocks were in advance while 37 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 11,437.25 and low of 11,290.45.

On Sectoral Front, IT Index was the only gainer with a gain of 1.20% while Media, Metal, Realty, Pharma, Auto, Bank, FMCG, Energy Indexes were the losers with a loss of 3.00%,2.99%, 1.72%, 1.57%, 0.88%, 0.87%,0.60%, 0.13% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of HCL Tech, Infosys ,Reliance, TCS,ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, HDFC Bank, Maruti, Bajaj Auto were in the gainer side with a gain of 2.26%, 1.67%, 1.18%, 0.93%, 0.71%, 0.70%, 0.25%,0.22%, 0.02% respectively while shares of Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, ONGC, Sun Pharma, NTPC,SBI, L & T Were the losers with a loss of 4.13%, 3.36%, 3.13%, 2.55%, 2.17%, 2.05%,1.88%,1.71% respectively.

On NSE, Shares of BPCL,HCL Tech, Infosys, Reliance, Wipro, TCS,ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra were the gainers with a gain of 2.75%, 1.95%, 1.41%, 1.17%, 1.09%, 0.84%,0.68%, 0.64% respectively while shares of Infratel, Zee Limited, Tata Motors ,Hindalco, Tata Steel, Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, Grasim, ONGC ,Sun Pharma were the losers with a loss of 8.14%, 4.69%, 4.45%, 3.92%, 3.83%, 3.50%, 3.49%, 3.29%, 2.75%,2.41% respectively.

Asian markets ticked higher Tuesday after last week's steep drops as investors brushed off Donald Trump's latest anti-China salvo, while sterling struggled to bounce back after fears over Brexit talks.

European markets pulled back further Tuesday as steep declines in the dominant U.S. tech sector continue to weigh on investor sentiment.

U.S. markets were closed for the Labor Day national holiday.

Shares of HCL Tech, Infosys, TCS gained on today’s trading session as the employees working with major IT companies have availed the maximum Employees' provident fund (EPF) advances under COVID-19 window.
