INDIAN EQUITY MARKET INDICES ENDED WITH GAINS ON MONDAY

Domestic Equity Market ended with small gains on Monday swinging between losses and gains, Indian equities. The recovery was largely fuelled by banking stocks.

The BSE Sensex ended at 38,417.23, up 60.05 points, or 0.16 per cent.18 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 12 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 38,519.92 and low of 38,060.74.

The Nifty 50 ended at 11,355.05, up 21.20 points, or 0.19 per cent.27 out of 50 stock were in advance while 22 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 11,381.15 and low of 11,251.70.

On Sectoral Front, IT,FMCG, Media Indexes were the gainers with a gain of 0.57%, 0.57%, 0.49% respectively while Realty,Energy,Auto,Bank,Pharma,Metal Indexes were the losers with a loss of 0.93%,0.51%, 0.48%, 0.29%, 0.10%, 0.05% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of HUL,TCS,ITC ,Asian Paints, HDFC ,HCL Tech ,Nestle India were the gainers with a gain of 1.77%,1.64%,1.42%, 1.42%, 1.33%,1.17%, 0.93%,0.88% respectively while Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra ,Bajaj Finance, NTPC,Ultratech Cement,ONGC,Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank were the losers with a loss of 3.46%, 2.54%, 2.43%, 1.97%,1.92%,1.51%,1.13% respectively.

On NSE, Shares of Infratel, HDFC Life ,Dr. Reddy, ITC, HUL, TCS, Zee Limited, JSW Steel were the gainers with a gain of 5.75%, 3.28%, 2.52%, 1.93%, 1.90%, 1.80%,1.27%, 1.26% respectively while shares of Mahindra & Mahindra, UPL, Bajaj Finance, Gail, NTPC, Ultratech Cement ,Hero Moto Corp, ONGC, Bharti Airtel were the losers with a loss of 3.43%, 2.61%, 2.47%, 2.24%, 2.22%, 1.82%, 1.72%, 1.67%, 1.56% respectively.

Asian markets were mixed Monday, following a sharp selloff on Wall Street last week.

European stocks were higher Monday as investors monitor progress on various coronavirus vaccines, with markets looking to recover from consecutive losses fueled by the tech sector at the end of last week.

TOP STOCKS IN NEWS:

TCS gained over 1.50% as Tata Consultancy Services has partnered with Transnet Port Terminals in South Africa to help the latter develop an integrated online marketplace platform by bringing together cargo owners, shipping lines, clearing and forwarding agents, and road/rail haulers.

ITC rose 1.42% after the company announced late on Saturday Supratim Dutta chief financial officer as part of its organizational restructuring replacing Rajiv Tandon.
