INDIAN EQUITY MARKET CLOSED WITH GAINS LIFTED BY FMCG,PHARMA AND IT STOCKS

Domestic Equity Market ended with a slight gain on Wednesday after gains from FMCG, pharma and IT stocks were capped by metal and PSU bank indices.

The BSE Sensex settled 94.71 points, or 0.25 per cent higher at 38,067.93 levels.14 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 16 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 38,236.34 and low of 37,828.11.

The Nifty 50 ended at 11,247.55 levels, up 25.15 points, or 0.04 per cent.20 out of 50 stocks were in advance while 29 stocks were in decline and 1 share unchanged. It touched intraday high of 11,295.40 and low of 11,184.55.

On Sectoral front, FMCG, Pharma, IT, Media, Bank Indexes were the gainers with a gain of 1.34%,0.48%,0.38%,0.20%,0.02% respectively while Metal, Energy, Realty, Auto Indexes were the losers with a loss of 2.12%, 1.11%, 0.77%, 0.36% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of Tech Mahindra, Titan ,Nestle India ,HUL,HCFC Bank, HDFC Bank, HDFC, ITC, Asian paints were the gainers with a gain of 3.06%, 2.83%, 1.92%, 1.68%, 1.57%, 1.52%, 1.42%, 1.41% respectively while shares of Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharma, Mahindra & Mahindra ,Bajaj Auto, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Reliance were the losers with a loss of 3.34%, 2.77%, .77%, 1.01%, 1.77%, 1.01%, 0.87%, 0.67%, 0.57%, 0.53%,0.49% respectively.

On NSE, Shares of Grasim, Tech Mahindra ,Nestle India, Dr. Reddy, Shree Cement, Cipla, UPL, Britannia were the gainers with a gain of 2.99%,2.79%, 2.55%, 1.93%, 11.92%, 1.77%,172%, 1.65%, 1.57% respectively while shares of BPCL, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Life, Coal India, Gail, IOC, Hindalco were the losers with a loss of 9.00%, 3.66%, 3.07%, 3.06%, 2.14%, 2.08%,1.44%, 1.43%, 1.27%, 1.11% respectively.
