INDIAN EQUITY MARKET ENDED FLAT ON WEDNESDAY

Domestic Equity Market ended lower on Wednesday ahead of the monthly derivative contracts expiry due tomorrow.

The BSE Sensex slipped 65.66 points, or 0.17 per cent lower at 37,668.42 levels.12 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 18 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 38,140.07 and low of 37,313.09 .

The NSE Nifty50 settled at 11,131.85 levels, down 21.80 points, or 0.2 per cent.19 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 31 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 11,259.55 and low of 11,024.40.

On Sectorial Front, Realty, Bank, FMCG Indexes were the gainers with a gain of 0.79%, 0.19%, 0.03% respectively while Media ,Pharma ,Energy, Metal, IT, Auto Indexes were the losers with a loss of 2.37%, 1.61%, 0.72%,0.39%, 0.30%, 0.06% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of Axis Bank, HUL, Infosys, HDFC Bank, Nestle India, Titan, Maruti ,Reliance, Asian Paints were the gainers with a gain of 1.82%,1.27%, 1.24%,1.11%,1.05%, 0.95%, 0.90%, 0.83%, 0.61% respectively while shares of Bharti Airtel, Tata steel, Indusind Bank, NTPC, Powergrid, ONGC ,TCS, Bajaj Finance, Sun Pharma were the losers with a loss of 7.8%, 3.46%, 3.02%, 2.85%, 2.66%, 2.23%, 1.86%, 1.51% respectively.

On NSE, Shares of Axis Bank, Coal India, Gail, HDFC Bank ,HUL ,Infosys, Nestle India ,Britannia, Titan were the gainers with a gain of 2.43%, 2.38%, 1.72%, 1.31%, 1.27%, 1.23%, 1.19%, 1.17%,0.89% respectively while shares of Infratel Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel ,Zee Limited ,IndusInd Bank ,NTPC, Powergrid, TCS were the losers with a gain of 8.26%, 8.16%, 3.47%, 3.25%, 2.95%, 2.91%, 2.67%, 2.45% respectively.

Asian markets were mostly lower on Wednesday as investors kept a wary eye on how the coronavirus pandemic will affect the economic outlook.

European stocks climbed Wednesday as investors reacted to key data releases from the euro zone.

TOP STOCKS IN NEWS:

Axis Bank gained nearly 2.50% as the Bank has allotted 1200 equity shares of Rs. 2/- each of the Bank pursuant to exercise of stock options under its ESOP Scheme.

HDFC Bank gained over 1% as the bank is offering a moratorium of up to two years to retail borrowers under the loan-restructuring scheme approved by the Reserve Bank of India.

Bharti Airtel loser over 8% after Reliance Jio launched a range of postpaid plans.

Shares of Tata steel lose over 3% as a 27-year-old Tata Steel senior manager (operations), posted at the cold rolling mill, (CRM), died in a mishap in the plant .
