INDIAN EQUITY MARKET CLOSED WITH HIGHER NOTES LED BY BUYING IN AUTO,REALTY AND PHARMA STOCKS

Domestic Equity Market ended higher on Wednesday thanks to buying in blue-chip counters such as HDFC Bank, Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), and ICICI Bank along with buying witnessed in auto, realty and pharma stocks.

The BSE Sensex gained 258.5 points or 0.66 per cent to settle at 39,302.85 levels.18 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 12 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 39,359.51 and low of 39,037.96.

The Nifty 50 index ended at 11,604.55, up 82.75 points, or 0.72 per cent. 29 out of 50 stocks were in advance while 19 shares decline and 2 shares unchanged. It Touched intraday high of 11,618.10 and low of 11,516.75.

On Sectoral Front, Realty, Pharma, Auto, IT, Bank, Metal, FMCG Indexes were the gainers with a gain of 2.26%, 2.08%, 1.53%, 0.73%, 0.48%, 0.45%, 0.41% respectively whereas Media, Energy Indexes were the losers with a loss of 1.59%, 0.43% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Bajaj Auto ,Sun Pharma, HDFC Bank, Infosys, L & T , Ultratech Cement, Nestle India were the gainers with a gain of 4.24%, 3.44%, 2.50%, 2.11%, 1.95%, 1.36%, 1.07%, 1.01% respectively while shares of IndusInd Bank, NTPC, SBI, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank ,Powergrid were the losers with a loss of 1.80%, 1.43%, 0.95%, 0.88%, 0.83%, 0.82%,0.75% respectively.

On NSE, Shares of Dr. Reddy, Mahindra & Mahindra ,Hindalco, Bajaj Auto, Britannia, Sun Pharma, HDFC Bank, Infosys ,Tata Motors were in the gainers with a gain of 4.44%, 4.01%,3.90%, 3.52%, 3.05%, 2.42%, 2.06%, 1.97%, 1.75% respectively while shares of IndusInd Bank ,NTPC, Infratel, SBI, Axis Bank, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Powergrid were the losers with a loss of 2.00%, 1.65%, 1.14%, 1.07%, 1.02%, 0.88%, 0.82%, 0.75% respectively.

Asian markets rose modestly in early trading Wednesday, as traders awaited news from the U.S. Federal Reserve later in the day.

European stocks inched up on Wednesday, with retail stocks rising after Inditex SA results, as investors waited for the outcome of the Federal Reserve meeting later.
