INDIAN EQUITY MARKET WITNESSED SELLING PRESSURE THROUGHOUT THE DAY

Domestic Equity market traded lower on Thursday ahead of the expiry of October series derivative contracts.

The BSE Sensex ended 172.61 points or 0.43% to 39,749.85 levels.9 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 21 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 40,010.83 and low of 39,524.25.

The NSE Nifty50 ended at 11,670.80, down 58.80 points or 0.50%.16 out of 50 stocks were in advance while 34 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 11,744.15 and low of 11,606.45.

On Sectoral Front, Barring IT and Energy stocks all the indexes were the in red. Media, Auto, FMCG, Pharma, Metal, Bank, Realty Indexes were the losers with a loss of 1.85%, 0.96%, 0.95%, 0.88%, 0.76%, 0.58%, 0.42% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of Asian Paints ,Ultratech Cement, HCL Tech, Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance, TCS, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra were the gainers with a gain of 3.04%, 2.46%, 1.24%,1.21%, 0.95%, 0.79%, 0.46%, 0.27%,0.19% respectively while shares of L & T, Titan , ONGC, Axis Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, HUL, NTPC ,HDFC were the losers with a loss of 4.99%, 3.32%,2.94%, 2.21%, 2.00%, 1.98%, 1.87%,1.77% respectively.

On NSE, Shares of Asian Paints, Tech Mahindra, Ultratech Cement, Kotak Bank, Wipro, Shree Cement, IOC, Reliance, HCL Tech, Gail were the gainers with a gain of 2.89%, 2.20%, 1.64%, 1.14%, 1.12%, 1.12%, 1.02%,0.87%, 0.82%, 0.72% respectively while shares of L & T, Titan, Adani Ports, ONGC, Axis Bank, HUL, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra ,Hero Moto Corp ,NTPC, HDFC ,HDFC Bank were the losers with a loss of 4.97%, 3.34%, 3.15%, 2.79%, 2.27%, 2.13%, 2.08%, 1.93%, 1.79%, 1.70%, 1.59%, 1.58% respectively.

Asian shares capped losses on Thursday and U.S. futures turned higher after the S&P 500 slid 3.5% overnight for its biggest drop since June.

European markets whipsawed on Thursday as investors digest new lockdown measures in France and Germany and await the European Central Bank’s latest monetary policy decision.

Tech Mahindra gained over 2% as Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) on Thursday said the company signed a contract worth Rs 400 crore with Tech Mahindra for implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) to support its project Parivartan.
