INDIAN EQUITY MARKET EXTENDED ITS RALLY FOR THE FIFTH CONSECUTIVE SESSION

Domestic Equity Market closed with gains on Friday led by robust gains in financial stocks amid positive global cues.

The BSE Sensex added 552.90 points, or 1.34 per cent to settle at 41,893.06 levels .21 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 9 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 41,954.93 and low of 41,383.29.

The NSE Nifty50 ended at 12,263.55 levels, up 143.25 points, or 1.18 per cent. 29 out of 50 stocks were in advance while 21 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 12,280.40 and low of 12,131.85.

On Sectoral front, Bank, Energy, Realty, IT, Metal, Auto, Media Indexes were the gainers with a gain of 1.85%, 1.07%,1.07%,0.50%, 0.47%, 0.13%, 0.05% respectively while Pharma, FMCG Indexes were the losers with a loss of 0.70%, 0.10% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of Reliance, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank,HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank,HDFC, Mahindra & Mahindra ,Tech Mahindra were the gainers with a gain of 3.78%, 3.71%, 3.43%, 3.01%, 2.54%, 1.82%, 1.74%, 1.20% respectively while shares of Maruti, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, Ultratech, Nestle India, Sun Pharma, ITC, HUL, Powergrid were the losers with a loss of 2.65%, 1.67%, 1.34%, 1.33%, 1.22%, 0.69%, 0.49%, 0.42%, 0.28% respectively.

On NSE, shares of Reliance, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, HDFC, Kotak Bank ,HDFC, Mahindra & Mahindra ,HCL Tech, Infosys ,Coal India were the gainers with a gain of 3.58%,3.48%, 3.09%, 3.06%,2.30%, 1.70%, 1.64%, 1.41%, 1.36%, 1.25% respectively while shares of Maruti, Gail, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, Grasim, Ultratech Cement, Dr. Reddy, Nestle India, BPCL were the losers with a loss of 2.72%, 1.89%,1.54%, 1.49%, 1.29%, 1.15%, 1.10%, 1.09%, 1.06% respectively.

Asian stock markets were mixed on Friday amid protracted vote-counting following this week’s U.S. elections.

European markets pulled back on Friday as investors await the outcome of the U.S. election and react to rising coronavirus cases and new restrictions across the continent.

Reliance rose over 3% after the company said that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) will invest Rs 9,555 crore ($1.29 billion) for 2.04 per cent equity stake in its retail arm.

HDFC bank gained over 2% as the bank had reported healthy September quarter (Q2FY21) results with net profit growing 18.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) at Rs 7,513 crore on the back of substantial growth in interest earnings and other income.
