INDIAN EQUITY MARKET ENDED WITH POSITIVE NOTES LEAD BY GAINS IN PHARMA AND IT STOCKS

Domestic Equity Market closed with a higher note led by gains in Pharma and IT Stocks as a close US Presidential election pushed the dollar higher.

The BSE Sensex rose 355.01 points or 0.88% at 40,616.14 levels.20 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 10 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 40,693.51 and low of 40,076.47.

The NSE Nifty ended at 11,908.50 ,up by 95.00 points or 0.80 percent.33 stocks were in advance while 17 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 11,929.65 and low of 11,756.40.

On Sectoral Front, Pharma, IT, Energy, Auto, Bank, FMCG, Media Indexes were the gainers with a gain of 2.18%, 1.78%, 0.69%, 0.67%, 0.35%, 0.69%, 0.67%, 0.35%, 0.29%, 0.17% respectively while Realty, Metal Indexes were the losers with a loss of 1.85%, ,0.31% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of IndusInd Bank ,Sun Pharma, Reliance, Infosys, Kotak Bank, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv were the gainers with a gain of 4.85%, 3.96%, 3.02%,2.30%,2.16%,1.97%, 1.31% respectively while shares of 4.85%, 3.96%, 3.46%, 3.02%, 2.30%, 2.16%, 1.97%, 1.31% respectively while shares of HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Powergrid ,ICICI Bank, NTPC,L & T, Tata steel ,Bharti Airtel, Ultratech Cement ,ITC were the losers with a loss of 2.02%, 1.70%, 1.64%, 1.58%, 0.93%,0.89%, 0.71%, 0.41%, 0.30%, 0.24% respectively.

On NSE, Shares of IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharma,Divi’s Lab, Reliance ,Reliance ,Cipla ,Infosys, Wipro, Adani Ports, Tech Mahindra ,Kotak Bank were the gainers with a gain of 4.89,3.69%, 3.56%,3.25%, 3.11%, 3.03%, 2.28%, 2.23%,2.22%, 2.16% respectively while shares of UPL, Axis Bank, HDFC, Hindalco, Powergrid, Coal India, Grasim, NTPC ,Tata steel, HDFC Life were the losers with a loss of 3.90%, 2.64%, 2.16%, 2.14%, 1.78%, 1.69%, 1.29%, 1.22%,1.05%,0.92%,0.88% respectively.

Asian markets gained on Wednesday, as investors weighed the results of the U.S. presidential election.

European stocks swung sharply as the US election result went down to the wire, with investors awaiting results amid Donald Trump’s premature claims of victory.

Sun Pharma rose 3.69% after the company reported a healthy 70 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth in profit after tax at Rs 1,813 crore in the September quarter (Q2FY21), on the back of strong operational performance.

Infosys gained over 2% amid counting of votes in the crucial US presidential election as Indian software exporters derive a large share of their business from the US.

Kotak Bank gained over 2.16% as the bank announced that it has reduced its interest rates on home loans by a further 15 basis points (bps) to 6.75 per cent.
