NIFTY CLOSED ABOVE 12,800 LEVEL WHILE SENSEX ENDED WITH A GAIN OF 0.65%

Domestic Equity Market ended with gains on Friday tracking gains in financials counters. IT and FMCG stocks also contributed to the gains.

The BSE Sensex ended at 43,882.25, up 282.29 points, or 0.65 per cent.23 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 7 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of 44,013.02 and low of 43,453.75.

The NSE's Nifty ended at 12,859.05, up 87.35 points, or 0.68 per cent.33 out of 50 stocks were in advance while 16 stocks were in decline and 1 stock unchanged. It touched intraday high of 12,892.45 and low of 12,730.25.

On Sectoral Front, IT, FMCG, Bank, Metal, Auto, Realty, Energy Indexes were the gainers with a gain of 1.40%, 1.19%, 1.15%, 0.80%, 0.65%, 0.52%, 0.05% respectively while Media, Pharma Indexes were the losers with a loss of 0.92%, 0.34% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of Bajaj Finserv, Titan, Bajaj Finance, Kotak Bank, Bharti Airtel, Nestle India, NTPC, HDFC,ITC were the gainers with a gain of 9.13%, 5.61%, 4.05%, 3.52%, 3.18%, 3.17%, 2.34%, 2.15%, 2.00% respectively while shares of Reliance, IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharma, ONGC, Axis Bank, HUL, L & T were the losers with a loss of 3.72%, 0.94%, 0.87%, 0.69%, 0.57%, 0.48%, 0.25% respectively.

On NSE, Shares of Bajaj Finserv, Titan, Gail, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, Kotak Bank, HDFC Life, Grasim, Nestle India were the gainers with a gain of 9.27%, 5.39%, 4.22%, 3.98%, 3.12%, 3.05%, 2.89%, 2.75%, 2.75% respectively while shares of shares of Reliance, Adani Ports, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank,Sun Pharma, ONGC, Coal India, Dr. Reddy were the losers with a loss of 3.66%, 1.56%,1.47%, 1.15%, 0.97%, 0.69%, 0.66%, 0.65% respectively.

Asian shares were mixed on Friday amid a tug of war between worries about the worsening pandemic in the present and optimism that a vaccine will rescue the economy in the future.

European stocks traded higher on Friday as investors looked past spiralling coronavirus cases and a U.S. Treasury decision to spike pandemic relief programs.

Titan gained over 5% after the luxury goods firm announced that it saw good traction across all its businesses during the festive season.

Bharti Airtel jumped over 3% as Bharti Airtel announced the completion of merger of Indus Towers and Bharti lnfratel.

Nestle India rose nearly 3% on expectation of higher growth by the company going forward.
