INDIAN EQUITY MARKET ENDED LOWER AFTER RECORDING A EIGHT DAY’S OF WINNING STREAK

Domestic Equity Market ended with lower note on Thursday as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced 12 measures under 'Atmanirbhar Bharat 3.0' to revive the economy.

The BSE Sensex ended 236.48 points or 0.54 percent lower at 43357.19.13 out of 30 stocks were in advance while 17 stocks were in decline. It touched intraday high of Rs.43,543.96 and low of Rs.43,127.55.

The NSE Nifty dropped 58.35 points or 0.46 percent to close at 12690.80.24 out of 50 stocks were in advance while 25 stocks were in decline and 1 stock unchanged. It touched intraday high of Rs.12,741.15 and low of Rs.12,624.85.

On Sectoral Front, FMCG, Realty, Media, Auto, Pharma, IT Indexes were the gainers with a gain of 1.28%,0.74%, 0.66%, 0.35%,0.26%, 0.15% respectively while Bank, Metal, Energy Indexes were the losers with a loss of 1.96%, 0.31%, 0.19% respectively.

On BSE, Shares of HUL,ITC,L & T, Bajaj Finserv, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Sun Pharma ,Bharti Airtel ,Mahindra & Mahindra were the gainers with a gain of 2.89%, 1.43%, 1.31%, 1.06%, 0.81%, 0.76%, 0.58%, 0.27%, 0.24% respectively while shares of SBI, Kotak Bank, IndusInd Bank ,NTPC,ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ONGC were the losers with a loss of 3.16%, 2.91%, 2.41%, 2.31%, 2.10%, 1.46%, 1.28%, 1.04% respectively.

On NSE, Shares of HUL, Grasim, Shree Cement, Hindalco, ITC, L & T, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Life, Britannia, Eicher Motors were the gainers with a gain of 3.33%, 2.76%, 2.70%, 1.91%, 1.43%, 1.06%, 1.05%, 0.95%, 0.86%,0.83% respectively while shares of SBI, Kotak Bank ,Coal India, IndusInd Bank, NTPC,ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, JSW steel, UPL, HDFC Bank were the losers with a loss of 3.05%, 2.85%, 2.66%, 2.60%, 2.10%, 2.06%, 1.73%,1.66%,1.33%,1.23% respectively.

European shares retreated from eight-month highs on Thursday as surging coronavirus infections raised doubts about a quicker economic rebound and overshadowed several upbeat quarterly earnings reports.

Asian shares pared their gains in choppy trade on Thursday as investors awaited further details on whether drug makers can develop a coronavirus vaccine.
