WEEKLY CURRENCY MARKET 23rd - 27th Nov 2020

On a weekly basis, the rupee appreciated 12 paise or 0.16 per cent at 74.03 against US dollar. On Monday, Rupee closed 5 paise higher at Rs. 74.10 against us dollar due to soars in domestic equity market. Rupee closed 12 paise higher at Rs. 73.99 against us dollar due to FII inflows and weak American currency on Tuesday. The Indian rupee opened at 73.99 and closed 8 paise higher at 73.92 against us Dollar as positive development on the coronavirus vaccine front enthused investor sentiment on Wednesday. Rupee settled 5 paise higher at 73.87 against us Dollar on Thursday. The rupee depreciated 14 paise against the US dollar closing at 74.03 on Friday.

The U.S dollar is set for weekly losses against a basket of major global currencies amid a relatively calm trading session prevailing at the currency market. The U.S currency market was closed on Thursday as it observed the Thanksgiving holiday.

This week, Euro appreciated by 0.26% against Rupee whereas JPY fell 0.35% against domestic currency.
