Shares were mostly lower in Asia on Monday following a report that the U.S. is preparing to slap sanctions on a dozen more Chinese officials, ratcheting up tensions with Beijing.
In Asia, SGF Niftyfell 0.07% to 13,412.00, Nikkei lose0.76% to 26,547.44, Straits Times plunged 0.51% to 2,825.51, Hangseng lose 1.23% to 26,506.85 whereas Taiwan Weighted run 0.88% to 14,256.60, Kospi rose 0.51% to 2,745.44, Set Composite jumped 0.80% to 1,449.83.
European stocks traded lower Monday as market focus in the region centers on a last-ditch effort between the U.K. and EU to reach a post-Brexit trade deal.
In Europe, FTSE up by 0.30% at 6,569.57 while CAC and DAX traded lower at 0.92% and 0.39% respectively.
U.S. stock futures fell early Monday following a record-setting session as Wall Street searched for clues on additional fiscal aid.
