INDIAN EQUITY MARKET TRIMMED LOSSES IN THE AFTERNOON SESSION AND ENDED FLAT

Market recovered from lows and ended flat on Wednesday. Indian Benchmark Indices trimmed losses in the last hour of trading led by gains in Metal, Auto and IT Sectors.Net selling of DII was at Rs.1,635.97 crore while Net buying of FII was at Rs.357.35 crore. The NSE Nifty rose 4.7 points at 13,113.75 with shares of Gail, ONGC, Asian Paints, Coal India ,Titan, Adani Ports ,the topmost gainers gained over 3%. On NSE, Kotak Bank, HDFC Bank, HDFC, Shree Cement ,ICICI Bank, Nestle India were the worst hit, fell by 3.35%, 1.95%, 1.43%, 1.24%, 1.16%, 1.00% respectively. The BSE Sensex settled 0.08% lower at 44,618.04 with Realty, Metal, Auto Indexes surged 3.05%, 2.55%, 1.12% respectively whereas Bank Index fell 1.29%.

Gail rallied over 3% on today’s session on the back of heavy volumes in an subbed market. The stock has jumped 18% in past three trading days after oil regulator Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) notified regulations for unified gas transmission tariff structure.

Coal India surged over 3% as the company reported a 3.3% rise in production at 51.7 million tonnes (MT) in November.

Adani Ports gained nearly 3% after the company announced its operational performance for the month of November.
