WEEKLY CURRENCY MARKET 7th - 11th Dec 2020

On a weekly basis, the rupee strengthens 16 paise or 0.21 per cent at 73.64 against US dollar.USD/INR touched low at 73.51 and high at 73.96. On Monday The rupee dropped by 10 paise to settle at 73.90 against the US currency due to a stronger dollar in overseas markets. The rupee surged by 39 paise to settle at 73.52 against the US currency on Tuesday buoyed by foreign fund inflows and heavy buying in domestic equities. The rupee closed with 3 paise lower at 73.56 against the US currency on Wednesday. The rupee depreciated 9 paise to 73.66 against the US dollar on Thursday tracking muted domestic equities and a rebound in the American currency. The Rupee settled 2 paise higher at 73.64 against the US dollar on Friday, tracking recovery in domestic equities towards the fag-end of the session.
