WEEKLY EQUITY REVIEW: NIFTY GAINED 2.11 PER CENT THIS WEEK

Last week, Nifty fifty reported a gain of 1.79%, During this Week, Nifty fifty closed with positive notes and reported a gain of 2.11% over previous Friday’s close. Market closed with positive notes on Monday after the government slashed the corporate tax in a bid to revive the economy . Market closed with negative notes on Tuesday amid uninspiring global cues, while investors assessed the impact of tax rate cut on different stocks and sectors after a two-day blockbuster rally. Nifty closed on a negative note on Wednesday, due to the expiry of September futures & options contracts on the next day. Market traded with positive notes on Thursday after positive comments from China on a trade deal with the United States. Market ended with negative notes on Friday due to weak global cues . Sectorial Indexes like FMCG, Energy, Bank Indexes were the gainers with a gain of 3.99%, 3.53%, 3.09% respectively while Pharma, Metal, IT, Realty, Auto, Media Indexes were the losers with a loss of 3.61%, 1.75%,1.64%,1.36%,0.68%, 0.40% respectively.

MOIL jumped over 17% percent after HSBC upgraded the stock to buy from hold but has kept the target unchanged at Rs 180 per share. The firm believes that the company is supported by healthy margins from low-cost operations.

India bulls Real Estate Ltd (IBREL) lose 14.68% as it has sold its remaining stake in some of its office assets in Gurugram and central Mumbai to Blackstone Group Lp for around ₹2,717 crore, paving the way for the New York-based investor to take full control of IBREL’s commercial office portfolio.

Shares of Yes Bank fell 13.55 after Yes Capital Private Limited (YCPL), one of the promoters of the company sold 1.8 percent shareholding in the bank.
