WEEKLY CURRENCY MARKET 3rd - 6th SEP 2019

The Indian rupee continued its winning momentum for a third session in a row on Friday. On a weekly basis, the domestic currency, however, lost 32 paise to the US dollar. Last week, Rupee appreciated 25 paise or 0.34% at 71.41 against US dollar. The forex markets closed on Monday for Ganesh Chaturthi. Rupee logged its biggest single-day fall in 2019 against the US currency on Tuesday amid weak economic data and negative stock market sentiment, closed 97 paise lower at 72.39 39 against the US dollar. The rupee closed 28 paise higher at 72.12 against the dollar amid weakening of the American currency in overseas market on Wednesday. Due to decline in crude oil prices, rupee closed 13 paise higher at 71.85 against the dollar on Thursday. On Friday, The rupee closed 13 paise higher at 71.73 against the dollar as gains in domestic equity market and resumption of US-China trade talks in October strengthened investor sentiments.
