DAILY CURRENCY MARKET 16th SEP 2019

Crude oil has once again roiled the currency market. Rupee opened on an extremely weak note at 71.62 , lower by 69 paise against the dollar on Monday morning, on the news of the drone attack on Saudi oil fields. USD/INR touched intraday low of 71.41 and high of 71.63. The rupee settled lower by 67 paise at 71.60 against dollar, as compared to its Friday close of 70.93. Sensex lost 261.68 points or 0.70% to settle at 37123.31 and Nifty slipped 72.40 points or 0.65% to settle at 11003.50 levels.

The Rupee was trading at 79.02 as against Euro. The currency pair EUR/INR opened at 78.53, which was previously close at 78.71. The Currency pair GBP/INR and JPY/INR were trading at 89.09 and 0.66 respectively. The other currencies pairs ZAR/INR, MYR/INR, SAR/INR and AED/INR were trading at 4.88, 17.15, 19.08 and 19.49 subsequently.

The USD/JPY was trading at 107.85. The currency pair EUR/USD was trading at 1.10. The paired currency EUR/JPY was trading at 118.98. Elsewhere, the currency pair GBP/USD was trading at 1.24. The other currencies pairs AUD/USD, NZD/USD, MYR/USD and SAR/USD were trading at 0.69, 0.64, 0.24 and 0.27 respectively.
