GOLD, SILVER PRICES FELL TODAY AFTER SLIDE FROM RECORD HIGHS

At the MCX, Gold futures for Oct 2019 contract was trading at Rs. 39442.00 per 10 gms, down by 0.96 %, after opening at Rs. 39582.00 per 10 gms , against a previous close of Rs. 39823.00 per 10 gms. It touched the intra-day low of Rs. 39350.00 per 10 gms and high of Rs. 39628.00 per 10 gms.

Gold prices dropped on Thursday as risk-on sentiment got a boost after China and the United States agreed to hold talks to end their protracted trade dispute.

Crude oil futures fell above 1 per cent on today in line with a weak trend in overseas markets.

MCXCOMDEX opened with negative note at 4032.47 and traded down by 0.79% at 4004.38.Commodities like Cardamom, Natural Gas, Zinc, Copper, Mentha oil, Lead were stood as top gainers, gained by 4.00%, 1.08%, 0.77%, 0.61%, 0.54%, 0.06% respectively. On the other hand, Silver, Gold, Crude oil, CPO, Cotton, Aluminium futures were stood as top losers, lose by 1.46%, 0.96%, 0.93%, 0.64%, 0.10%, 0.04% respectively.

Sensex ended with negative note while Nifty ended flat in a volatile trading session on Thursday dragged down by private bank stocks amid expiry of weekly options. Sensex was down 80.32 points or 0.22 % at 36644.42 and Nifty was up 3.25 points or 0.03% at 10847.90.
