GOLD PRICE RECOUPS LOSSES, TRADES ABOVE 37,800

At the MCX, Gold futures for Oct 2019 contract was trading at Rs. 37825.00 per 10 gms, up by 0.20 %, after opening at Rs. 37728.00 per 10 gms , against a previous close of Rs. 37750.00 per 10 gms. It touched the intra-day low of Rs. 37635.00 per 10 gms and high of Rs. 37892.00 per 10 gms.

Gold and silver prices today opened with lower in India. Subdued global prices and an appreciation in rupee's value against the US dollar put pressure on domestic gold and silver prices. But Gold traded in positive note in afternoon session as participants raised their bets , tracking demand by local jewelers at spot markets.

Crude oil prices rose in futures trade on today as speculators raised their exposure on firm spot demand.

MCXCOMDEX opened with positive note at 3930.83 but traded 0.29% higher at 3936.23. Commodities like Cardamom, Zinc, Natural Gas, Copper, Cotton, Crude oil, Silver, Lead, Gold were stood as top gainers, gained by 4.00%, 0.87%, 0.60%, 0.47%, 0.46%, 0.31%, 0.26%, 0.26%, 0.20% respectively. On the other hand, CPO, Mentha oil futures were stood as top losers, lose by 0.47%, 0.30% respectively. Aluminium traded on flat note.

Sensex and Nifty ended higher today after investors lapped up stocks on renewed buying interest in banking and consumer durables sectors. Indices swung from negative to positive territory and vice versa with consumer durables, banking and auto stocks leading the gains. At close, Sensex was up 280.71 points or 0.76 % at 37384.99 and Nifty was up 93.10 points or 0.85% at 11075.90.
