WEEKLY CURRENCY MARKET 3rd - 7th JUNE 2019

On a weekly basis, the rupee gained 23 paise or 0.33 per cent against US dollar. Rupee opened 20 paise higher at 69.49 as against dollar on Monday and closed 43 paise higher against the dollar at 69.26 as easing of crude oil prices along with weakness in the dollar overseas. . Rupee closed 1 paisa higher against the dollar at 69.25 on Tuesday amid Selling of the American currency by exporters, fresh foreign fund inflows and easing crude oil prices . Currency market was closed on Wednesday on account of Ramzan Id or Eid-ul-Fitr. Rupee closed 1 paisa lower against the dollar on Thursday due to the Reserve Bank of India cut its repo rate by 0.25 per cent. Foreign fund outflows and rising crude oil prices also kept pressure on the Indian Rupee. Rupee closed 19 paisa lower against the dollar at 69.46 on Friday.
