OIL PRICES PLUNGE FURTHER ON TRADE WAR FEARS

At the MCX, Crude oil futures for Jun 2019 contract was trading at Rs. 3750.00 per barrel, down by 0.66 %, after opening at Rs. 3696.00 per barrel, against a previous close of Rs. 3775.00 per barrel. It touched an intra-day low of Rs. 3670.00 per barrel and high of Rs. 3784.00 per barrel.

Oil Prices fell more than 1 per cent on Monday, extending losses of over 3 per cent from Friday, when crude markets racked up their biggest monthly losses in six months amid stalling demand and as trade wars fanned fears of a global economic slowdown.

MCXCOMDEX opened with negative note at 3571.78 and traded down by 0.34 % at 3564.75. Commodities like Mentha oil, Cardamom, Silver, Gold were stood as top gainers, gained by 3.12%, 2.07%, 0.42%, 0.30% respectively. On the other hand, Zinc, Natural Gas, CPO, Cotton, Nickel, Aluminium, Lead, Crude oil, Copper futures were stood as top losers, lose by 1.74%, 1.63%, 1.315, 1.27%, 0.97%, 0.72%, 0.67%, 0.66%, 0.52% respectively.

NSE Nifty 50 ended 1.39 per cent or 165.75 points higher at 12088.55 and Sensex rose 1.39 per cent or 553.42 points to 40267.62.
