AGRI-COMMODITIES: MENTHA OIL, CARDAMOM, CPO AND COTTON TRADED ON POSITIVE NOTE

At the MCX, Mentha oil futures for Jul 2019 contract was trading at Rs. 1266.00 per kg, up by 1.36 per cent, after opening at Rs. 1260.00 per kg, against a previous close of Rs. 1249.00 per kg. It touched an intra-day low of Rs. 1243.50 per kg and high of Rs. 1270.80 per kg.

Mentha Oil prices inched up in futures trade on Wednesday on an uptick in demand by consuming industries at spot markets along with limited supplies from key producing regions.

Cardamom was trading with positive note on today amid increase demand at the domestic spot market. Tight Supply from key producing regions also helped prices go higher.

MCXCOMDEX opened with negative note at 3686.61 and traded up by 0.33 per cent at 3701.12. Commodities like Crude oil, Mentha oil, Cardamom, Cotton, CPO, Nickel, Aluminium, Copper, Lead were stood as top gainers, gained by 1.41%, 1.36%, 1.08%, 0.98%, 0.89%, 0.65%, 0.59%, 0.07%, 0.06% respectively. On the other hand, Gold, Natural Gas, Silver, Zinc stood as top losers, lose by 1.00%, 0.75%, 0.67%, 0.07% respectively.

Oil prices rose on Wednesday, buoyed by an outage at a major refinery on the US East Coast and industry data that showed US crude stockpiles fell more than expected.

In domestic Market, Gold Prices fall today amid weak global trend. In global markets, prices slipped more than 1% today after as US Federal Reserve officials played down expectations of aggressive rate cuts.

Equity Market ended higher for the second consecutive session on Wednesday, lifted by gains in metal stocks. Sensex settled 157.14 points, or 0.40 %, higher at 39592.08 while Nifty50 index also crossed the 11,800-mark and closed the day at 11847.55, up 51.10 points, or 0.43%.
