CARDAMOM, CPO RISE ; MENTHA OIL, COTTON FALLS

At the MCX, Cardamom futures for Jul 2019 contract was trading at Rs. 2678.00 per kg, up by 4.00 per cent, after opening at Rs. 2652.80 per kg, against a previous close of Rs. 2575.60 per kg. It touched an intra-day low of Rs. 2652.80 per kg and high of Rs. 2678.60 per kg.

Cardamom was trading with positive note on today amid increase demand at the domestic spot market. Tight Supply from key producing regions also helped prices go higher. Cardamom stood as the top gainer due to high demand while Mentha oil was the top loser in domestic commodity market.

Mentha oil suffered sharp losses in futures trade on Today due to slump in demand by consuming industries at the spot market.

MCXCOMDEX opened with negative note at 3564.47 and traded up by 0.06 per cent at 3567.01. Commodities like Cardamom, Copper, Silver, Gold, CPO, Nickel, Lead, Aluminium, Natural Gas were stood as top gainers, gained by 4.00%, 0.62%, 0.56%, 0.50%, 0.23%, 0.17%, 0.16%, 0.11%, 0.06% respectively. On the other hand, Mentha oil, Crude oil, Cotton, Zinc stood as top losers, lose by 1.03%, 0.52%, 0.23%, 0.15%.

At close, the Sensex was up 85.55 points or 0.22% at 39046.34, while Nifty was up 19.35 points or 0.17% at 11691.50.
