OIL PRICE JUMPS AFTER GULF OF OMAN TANKER ‘ATTACK’

At the MCX, Crude oil futures for Jun 2019 contract was trading at Rs. 3676.00 per barrel, up by 2.22 %, after opening at Rs. 3575.00 per barrel, against a previous close of Rs. 3575.00 per barrel. It touched an intra-day low of Rs. 3536.00 per barrel and high of Rs. 3688.00 per barrel.

Oil prices jumped above 2% on Thursday after a suspected attack on two tankers in the Gulf of Oman near Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of global oil consumption passes.

MCXCOMDEX opened with positive note at 3527.02 and traded up by 0.76% at 3560.09. Commodities like Crude oil , Mentha oil, Cardamom, CPO, Nickel, Silver, Gold, Lead, Cotton were stood as top gainers, gained by 2.22%, 2.01%, 1.47%, 0.99%, 0.90%, 0.37%, 0.32%, 0.23%, 0.09% respectively. On the other hand, Crude Natural Gas, Zinc, Copper, Aluminium futures were stood as top losers, lose by 0.78%, 0.56%, 0.21%, 0.03% respectively.

NSE Nifty 50 ended 0.07 per cent or 7.85 points higher at 11914.05 while Sensex declined 0.04 per cent or 15.45 points to 39741.36.
