WEEKLY CURRENCY MARKET 22nd - 26th JULY 2019

During the current week, Rupee down 8 paise or 0.11 per cent against US dollar. Last week, the rupee depreciated 11 paise or 0.16 per cent at 68.81 against US dollar. Rupee opened with negative note and fell 8 paise to 69.89 against the US dollar on Monday amid heavy selling in domestic equities and rising crude oil prices, closed 10 paise lower at 68.91.The rupee on Tuesday closed 2 paise lower at 68.94 against the dollar as Strong US dollar against major currencies weighed on the rupee sentiment . On Wednesday, The rupee closed 3 paise lower at 68.98 against the dollar amid sustained foreign fund outflows and rising crude oil prices along with a cautious opening in domestic equities and strengthening of the US dollar vis-a-vis other currencies overseas kept up the pressure on the Indian rupee. The rupee closed 5 paise lower at 69.04 against the dollar on Tuesday amid sustained foreign fund outflows and firm crude oil prices. The rupee closed 16 paise higher at 68.89 against the dollar on Friday due to decline in crude oil prices.
