DAILY CURRENCY MARKET 24th JULY 2019

The rupee opened 13 paise lower to 69.08 against the US dollar on Wednesday after settling at 68.95 on Tuesday. USD/INR touched intraday low of 68.96 and high of 69.09 . The rupee closed 3 paise lower at 68.98 against the dollar amid sustained foreign fund outflows and rising crude oil prices along with a cautious opening in domestic equities and strengthening of the US dollar vis-a-vis other currencies overseas kept up the pressure on the Indian rupee. Going ahead, global cues like ECB meeting on Thursday, the US Q2 preliminary GDP print on Friday and the FOMC meeting on July 31, are expected to impact rupee movement. Meanwhile, Sensex was down 135.09 points or 0.36% at 37847.65, while Nifty was down 59.75 points or 0.53% at 11,271.30.

The Rupee was trading at 76.88 as against Euro. The currency pair EUR/INR opened at 76.96, which was previously close at 77.09. The Currency pair GBP/INR and JPY/INR were trading at 86.26 and 0.63 respectively. The other currencies pairs ZAR/INR, MYR/INR, SAR/INR and AED/INR were trading at 4.96, 16.77, 18.40 and 18.78 subsequently.

The USD/JPY was trading at 108.05. The currency pair EUR/USD was trading at 1.11. The paired currency EUR/JPY was trading at 120.43. Elsewhere the currency pair GBP/USD was trading at 1.25. The other currencies pairs AUD/USD, NZD/USD, MYR/USD and SAR/USD were trading at 0.70, 0.67, 0.24 and 0.27 respectively.
