WEEKLY CURRENCY MARKET 15th - 19th JULY 2019

During the current week, Rupee down 11 paise or 0.16 per cent against US dollar. Last week, the rupee gained 63 paise or 0.91 per cent at 68.69 against US dollar. Rupee opened higher at 68.54 on Monday and closed 15 paise higher at 68.54 against the dollar despite disappointing macroeconomic data numbers released on Friday. Rupee closed 16 paise lower at 68.71 against the dollar amid weak trade data and rising crude oil prices on Tuesday. Rupee closed 10 paise lower at 68.82 against the dollar amid weak trade data and rising crude oil prices and foreign fund out flows on Wednesday. The rupee Slipped 12 paise at 68.95 against the dollar on Thursday. On Friday, Rupee closed 16 paise higher at 68.80 against the dollar as market participants pinned their hopes on aggressive interest cut by the US Federal Reserve later this month.
