WEEKLY COMMODITY REPORT: MCXCOMDEX SLIPPED 0.11 PC AS METAL INDEX DOWN BY 0.77 PC
Total turnover stood at Rs. 15033837 lakh in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX during the week July 22nd to 26th, 2019. MCX COMDEX at 3707.07 points was down 0.11% on the previous close. Metal Index down by 0.77% at 5516.05 points where as Agri-Index and Energy index up by 1.60% and 0.34% respectively.
Energy Index started the week with positive note at 2660.72 and ended at 2667.09. Crude oil Aug contract gained 1.07 % at Rs. 3869 per barrel. Natural gas Jul future recorded a weekly loss of 3.73 % at Rs. 149.8 per mmBtu after opened at Rs. 157.3 Per mmBtu on Monday.
Metal index opened at 5567.5 on Monday and closed at 5516.05 on Friday. Aluminium Jul future recorded with a loss of 3.11 % after opened at Rs. 143.1 per kg on Monday and closed at Rs. 138.55 per kg on Friday. Copper Jul future registered a weekly loss of 2.62 % at Rs. 444.55 per kg on Friday after opened at Rs. 456.8 per kg. Lead Jul future was opened at Rs. 152.75 per kg on Monday and closed at Rs. 158.55 per kg on Friday, registered a weekly gain of 3.93 %. Zinc Jul futures lose by 0.16 % at Rs. 190.3 per kg after opened at Rs. 192.4 per kg on Monday as against previous close of Rs. 190.6 per kg. Nickel Jul future registered a weekly loss of 1.56 % at Rs. 995.3 per kg on Friday after opened at Rs. 1005 per kg on Monday as against previous close of Rs. 1011.1 per kg.
In the bullion segment, gold contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 2764707.15 Lakh, Gold Aug future down by 0.75% at Rs 34773 per 10 grams. Silver Sep future gained by 1.16 % at Rs 41152 per kg.
Agri index was opened with negative note at 2847.5 on Monday and closed at 2910.48 on Friday. Cardamom Aug future recorded a weekly gain of 7.92 % at Rs. 3405.2 per kg. Cotton Jul future was opened with positive note at Rs. 21590 per bales on Monday and closed at Rs. 21050 per bales on Friday, registered weekly loss of 2.05%. Mentha oil Jul futures lose 3.23% at Rs. 1251.5 per kg. CPO Jul future gained by 1.98% at Rs. 509.90 per 10 kg.
