AGRI COMMODITIES: CARDAMOM, COTTON, MENTHA OIL, CPO RISE ON SPOT DEMAND

At the MCX, Cardamom futures for Aug 2019 contract was trading at Rs. 2983.10 per kg, up by 4.00 per cent, after opening at Rs. 2954.40 per kg, against a previous close of Rs. 2868.40 per kg.

Most of the Agri commodities were top gainers. Cardamom was trading with positive note on today amid increase demand at the domestic spot market. Tight Supply from key producing regions also helped prices go higher.

Gold prices declined in morning session on Monday after a fall in demand by jewellers at spot markets, while a stronger rupee and rise in equities dented the appeal of gold as a safe-haven asset. In the Afternoon session, Gold prices rose in future trade as speculators extended exposure amid firm domestic cues.

MCXCOMDEX opened with negative note at 3731.95 and traded up by 0.07% at 3737.92. Commodities like Cardamom, Mentha oil, Cotton, Silver, Copper, Zinc, Aluminium, CPO, Gold, Crude oil were stood as top gainers, gained by 4.00%, 1.55%, 0.52%, 0.39%, 0.37%, 0.23%, 0.14%, 0.12%, 0.06%, 0.05% respectively. On the other hand, Natural Gas, Lead, Nickel stood as top losers, lose by 1.78%, 0.35%, 0.22% respectively.

Indian equity benchmarks ended higher. Positive global sentiment lifted pharma and IT stocks on Monday. At close, the Sensex was up 160.48 points or 0.41% at 38896.71, while Nifty was up 35.85points or 0.31% at 11588.35.
