DAILY CURRENCY MARKET 6th AUG 2019

The rupee opened 7 paise lower at 70.79 against the US dollar. USD/INR touched intraday low of 70.46 and high of 70.90. The currency closed 10 paise lower at 70.82 against the dollar following heavy capital outflow as investors turned jittery over the US-China trade tension amid a sharp devaluation in yuan. The rupee had closed 70.72 as against dollar on Monday. Meanwhile, the Sensex was up 277.01 points or 0.75% at 36976.85, while Nifty was up 85.65 points or 0.79% at 10948.25.

The Rupee was trading at 79.34 as against Euro. The currency pair EUR/INR opened at 79.39, which was previously close at 79.00. The Currency pair GBP/INR and JPY/INR were trading at 86.27 and 0.66 respectively. The other currencies pairs ZAR/INR, MYR/INR, SAR/INR and AED/INR were trading at 4.78, 16.92, 18.88 and 19.28 subsequently.

The USD/JPY was trading at 106.40. The currency pair EUR/USD was trading at 1.11. The paired currency EUR/JPY was trading at 119.00. Elsewhere, the currency pair GBP/USD was trading at 1.22. The other currencies pairs AUD/USD, NZD/USD, MYR/USD and SAR/USD were trading at 0.68, 0.65, 0.24 and 0.27 respectively.
