DAILY CURRENCY MARKET 23rd AUG 2019

The rupee opened 10 paise lower at 71.92 against the US dollar . USD/INR touched intraday’s low of 71.57 and high of 72.05. The rupee on Friday slipped to 72-mark against the US dollar for the first time in 2019 following selloff in domestic equities amid weakness in Chinese Yuan which fell to a fresh 11-year low level. Rupee recovered later and closed 14 paise higher at 71.68 against the dollar on today. Meanwhile, Nifty was up 88.00 points or 0.82 % at 10,829.35 and Sensex was up 228.23 points or 0.63% at 36701.16.

The Rupee was trading at 79.30 as against Euro. The currency pair EUR/INR opened at 79.51, which was previously close at 79.56. The Currency pair GBP/INR and JPY/INR were trading at 87.60 and 0.67 respectively. The other currencies pairs ZAR/INR, MYR/INR, SAR/INR and AED/INR were trading at 4.71, 17.12, 19.10 and 19.50 subsequently.

The USD/JPY was trading at 106.65. The currency pair EUR/USD was trading at 1.10. The paired currency EUR/JPY was trading at 117.95. Elsewhere the currency pair GBP/USD was trading at 1.22. The other currencies pairs AUD/USD, NZD/USD, MYR/USD and SAR/USD were trading at 0.68, 0.64, 0.24 and 0.27 respectively.
