DAILY CURRENCY MARKET 22nd AUG 2019

The rupee opened at 71.56 against the US dollar on Thursday after settling at 71.56 on Wednesday. USD/INR touched intraday’s low of 71.56 and high of 71.97. The rupee closed 25 paise lower at 71.81 against the dollar amid foreign fund outflows and cautious opening in domestic equities. Meanwhile, Nifty fell 180.95 points or 1.67% to 10737.75 level and Sensex ended at 36472.93 at a decline of 587.44 points or 1.59%.

The Rupee was trading at 79.56 as against Euro. The currency pair EUR/INR opened at 79.33, which was previously close at 79.44. The Currency pair GBP/INR and JPY/INR were trading at 87.30 and 0.67 respectively. The other currencies pairs ZAR/INR, MYR/INR, SAR/INR and AED/INR were trading at 4.73, 17.17, 19.17 and 19.56 subsequently.

The USD/JPY was trading at 106.59. The currency pair EUR/USD was trading at 1.10. The paired currency EUR/JPY was trading at 118.08. Elsewhere, the currency pair GBP/USD was trading at 1.22. The other currencies pairs AUD/USD, NZD/USD, MYR/USD and SAR/USD were trading at 0.68, 0.64, 0.24 and 0.27 respectively.
