DAILY CURRENCY MARKET 21th AUG 2019

The rupee opened at 71.45 against the US dollar on Wednesday after settling at 71.71 on Tuesday. USD/INR touched intraday’s low of 71.36 and high of 71.61. The rupee closed 16 paise higher at 71.55 against the dollar. The Indian rupee on strengthened marginally against dollar tracking gains among its Asian peers as traders assessed the latest remarks from the US on trade talks with China. Meanwhile, Sensex was down 267.64 points or 0.72 % at 37060.37 and Nifty was down 98.30 points or 0.89% at 10918.70.

The Rupee was trading at 79.44 as against Euro. The currency pair EUR/INR opened at 79.41, which was previously close at 79.45. The Currency pair GBP/INR and JPY/INR were trading at 86.82 and 0.67 respectively. The other currencies pairs ZAR/INR, MYR/INR, SAR/INR and AED/INR were trading at 4.70, 17.13, 19.07 and 19.47 subsequently.

The USD/JPY was trading at 106.47. The currency pair EUR/USD was trading at 1.11. The paired currency EUR/JPY was trading at 118.19. Elsewhere, the currency pair GBP/USD was trading at 1.21. The other currencies pairs AUD/USD, NZD/USD, MYR/USD and SAR/USD were trading at 0.68, 0.64, 0.24 and 0.27 respectively.
