DAILY CURRENCY MARKET 20th AUG 2019

The rupee opened on a weak note at 71.50 against the US dollar amid rising crude oil prices and unabated foreign fund outflows. USD/INR touched intraday low of 71.50 and high of 71.80. The rupee closed 27 paise lower at 71.70 against the dollar amid growing worries over economic slump. Meanwhile, Sensex fell 74.48 points or 0.20% to 37328.01 level and Nifty ended at 11017.00 at a decline of 36.90 points or 0.33%.

The Rupee was trading at 79.45 as against Euro. The currency pair EUR/INR opened at 78.19, which was previously close at 79.27. The Currency pair GBP/INR and JPY/INR were trading at 86.58 and 0.67 respectively. The other currencies pairs ZAR/INR, MYR/INR, SAR/INR and AED/INR were trading at 4.66, 17.14, 19.10 and 19.51 subsequently.

The USD/JPY was trading at 106.26. The currency pair EUR/USD was trading at 1.10 The paired currency EUR/JPY was trading at 117.66. Elsewhere, the currency pair GBP/USD was trading at 1.21. The other currencies pairs AUD/USD, NZD/USD, MYR/USD and SAR/USD were trading at 0.68, 0.64, 0.24 and 0.27 respectively.
