India’s Multi Commodity Exchanges has recorded a weekly turnover of Rs. 11352349.60 lakh during this week. MCXCOMDEX started the trading at 3632.42 on Monday and ended the trading on Friday at 3674.23, recording a strong weekly gain of 1.15 per cent. METAL index was opened at 5320.49 on Monday and closed at 5299.27 on Friday, having registered a weekly loss of 0.39 per cent. Among the indices on Multi commodity exchange, ENERGY index stood as the top performer during this week. It gained 2.55 per cent and reached at 2875.63 on Friday after opened at 2803.93 on Monday. AGRI index opened at 2715.43 on Monday and closed at 2756.20 on Friday, recorded a weekly rise of 1.50 per cent.
ENERGY index has shown a fluctuation trend during this week. Both CRUDEOIL and NATURALGAS future were in the positive territory. CRUDEOIL Mar future reached at Rs. 4125.00 per BBL on Friday, registered a weekly gain of 3.25 per cent. Spot price of CRUDEOIL recorded a weekly gain of 3.57 per cent and reached at Rs.4083.00 per BBL. NATURALGAS Feb future was opened on positive notes at Rs. 167.00 per mmBtu on Monday and closed at Rs. 170.20 per mmBtu, having registered weekly increase of 1.92 per cent.
AGRI index has registered a weekly gain of 1.50 per cent. Commodities like MENTHAOIL, and CARDAMOM were in the negative side while CPO and COTTON were in positive side. MENTHAOIL Feb future was opened at Rs. 1361.00 per kg on Monday and closed at Rs. 1283.30 per kg on Friday, registering weekly decline of 5.71 per cent and COTTON Feb future has registered a weekly gain of 2.30 per cent after opened at Rs. 19550.00 per bales On Monday and closed at Rs.20000.00 per bales on Friday. CARDAMOM Mar future was opened at Rs. 1159.00 per kg on Monday and reached at Rs.1130.80 per kg on Friday, registered weekly decline of 2.43 per cent in this week. CPO Feb future was opened at Rs.577.00 per 10 kg and closed at Rs. 583.70 per 10 kg on Friday, having a weekly increase of 1.16 per cent.
For this week METAL index has registered a loss of 0.39 per cent. Under this index Most of Base Metals were in the negative territory and Precious Metals were also in negative territory during this week. Under Base Metals, Four of the five commodities were in negative sides. ALUMINIUM Jan future was opened on flat negative note at Rs. 141.45 per kg on Monday and reached at Rs. 140.15 per kg on Friday, registered a weekly loss of 0.92 per cent. COPPER Feb future reached at Rs. 459.70 per kg on Friday after opened on flat positive note at Rs. 461.30 per kg on Monday, recorded flat weekly loss of 0.35 per cent while LEAD Feb contract has registered a weekly loss of 1.76 per cent to reach at Rs. 165.05 per kg on Friday after opened at Rs. 168.00 per kg on Monday. NICKEL Feb contract registered a weekly gain of 0.67 per cent to reach at Rs. 889.90 per kg on Friday. ZINC Feb contract was opened at Rs. 231.00 per kg on Monday and closed at Rs. 229.55 per kg on Friday, registered a weekly loss of 0.63 per cent.
This week Precious Metals have shown negative sign, GOLD Apr future contract has recorded a weekly loss of 0.83 per cent after opened on negative note at Rs. 30763.00 per 10 gm on Monday and closed at Rs. 30509.00 per 10 gm on Friday as the dollar strengthened during the week. SILVER Mar contract has registered weekly of loss 0.40 per cent and closed at Rs. 38403.00 per kg on Friday.
