MCXCOMDEX opened on positive note at 3679.53, up by 0.08 per cent from its previous closed at 3676.40. METAL index opened on flat positive note at 5334.39, up by 0.08 per cent from its previous closed at 5329.88 while ENERGY index opened on flat positive note at 2855.43 against previous closed at 2854.30 and AGRI index was also opened on marginally positive note at 2759.05, up by 0.36 per cent than its previous closed at 2748.90. India’s Multi commodity exchange has recorded a turnover of Rs 2654320.74 Lacs on 22nd Feb 2018.

AGRI index was trading on mixed note after opened on marginally positive note. Commodities like, MENTHAOIL and CPO were trading on positive notes while CARDAMOM and COTTON were trading on negative notes. MENTHAOIL Mar future was trading on high negative note, with an increase of 1.33 per cent to Rs. 1275.00 per kg after a decline of 3.23 per cent on last closing price. CPO was trading on marginally positive note at Rs. 582.40 per 10 kg, up by 0.10 per cent after an increase of 0.07 per cent on last closing price. Both COTTON and CARDAMOM were trading down by 0.30 per cent and 0.34 per cent to Rs. 20270.00 per bales and Rs.1140.00 per kg respectively.

ENERGY index was trading on negative note after opened on flat negative note as both NATURALGAS and CRUDEOIL futures were trading on negative notes. NATURALGAS Feb future was trading down by 1.69 per cent to Rs. 168.90 per mmBtu after a decline of 0.58 per cent on last closing price. CRUDEOIL Mar future was trading down by 0.24 per cent to Rs. 4076.00 per BBL after an increase of 2.00 per cent on last closing price.

METAL index was opened on flat positive note, with an increase of 0.08 per cent in the morning trading session. Under this index, Base Metals and Precious Metals were trading on negative notes. Under Base Metals, commodities like ALUMINIUM, LEAD, ZINC, COPPER and NICKEL futures were trading on negative notes. ALUMINIUM Feb future was trading down by 0.18 per cent to Rs. 141.90 per kg after a decline of 0.53 per cent on last closing price and LEAD Feb future was trading lower by 0.72 per cent to Rs. 164.75 per kg after an increase of 0.27 per cent on last closing price. NICKEL Feb future was the top loser in this index and trading down by 0.99 per cent to Rs. 886.50 per kg after an increase of 0.09 per cent on last closing priceZINC Feb future was trading down by 0.91 per cent to Rs. 229.35 per kg after opened on negative note at Rs. 230.10 per kg and COPPER Feb future was trading lower by 0.82 per cent to Rs.460.85 per kg after an increase of 0.71 per cent on last closing price.

Precious Metals have shown a negative sign in the morning trading session. SILVER Mar future was trading on marginally negative note at Rs. 38500.00 per kg down by 0.50 per cent after a rise of 0.02 per cent on last closing price while GOLD Apr future was also trading on marginally negative note at Rs. 30468.00 per 10 gm, decline by 0.34 per cent after a rise of 0.28 per cent on yesterday’s closing price as the dollar strengthened during the week.
